I was born an optimist.
I believe we, (humanity), can handle more than we think we can, and are meant to take on certain risks that deliver more stress than rewards, but the rewards, no matter how slight, make up for the massive tonnage of stress that take up 97% of the spectrum.
I live for that 3%.
I wake up every morning refreshed and ready to explore the day. Of course I have fallen asleep sad, upset, and defeated many times, but I have never woken up feeling that way. I choose to live my life with a positive lens. I find negativity annoying and useless.
I don’t have time for it.
I believe the bright rays of light breaking through the towering tunnel walls of dirt and discontent should not blind us just because we are accustomed to the dimness of negativity. If that jolt of inspiration and support is unsettling, throw on pair of shades. It’s easy to feel comfortable slouching in the shadow of negativity, the key is to never get comfortable.
Positivity is a constant pursuit.
There are only so many seconds in each day, why waste them complaining? I ask myself constantly, “What can I do right now?” Write a letter, a story, make a movie, listen to a friend, write down a list of goals, a plan of action, and GO!
Change your shoes, socks, shirt, shorts and step outside to run. Sweat out the stress. Stir it up and feel it drip out and away from your body. Once it’s gone, let it go. For good. Move on, move forward, and keep moving forward.
It’s fine to reflect and learn from our mistakes, but don’t wallow in the past wasting time wondering what could’ve been? Instead, accept the super-power of self-awareness and flip it over to fuel and improve today, tomorrow, next week, next year, and every second thereafter.
Open your mind. No one knows it all; the fun is in the journey to find out.
Humility is freedom.
We are all a work in progress. Embrace the process of failing, succeeding, crying, high-fiving, and living your precious life.
This is it.
I am a BIG fan of Hailee Steinfeld. She is an incredible actor and singer. I can’t believe I missed this single from her and DNCE, (Joe Jonas’s band) back in 2016, but I found it last week, and want to share it with you now. Enjoy.:)
