Time for Another Fe Adventure!

The next fourteen weeks are going to be great. I know for sure they will because I am going to be training for my 10th ironman triathlon, (yes, it is lower case on purpose.) I’d like to say that every day will be pleasant, but I am an honest person, they won’t. There will be frustrating moments of mind-crushing time management equations, but no matter how nicely I’ve asked, there simply will never be more than twenty-four hours in one day.

The swim! 2.4 miles of thrashing and crashing with my buddies.

There will be moments of extreme fatigue that push beyond low-energy, no, there will be moments when the thought of walking to the kitchen from my comfy-cozy couch will trigger tears. It’s happened. My legs are strong, sure, but they are made of flesh and bone that can be equally built up and broken down; sensing when they need to push and when they need to rest is a constant battle between my head and heart. They both win and lose a little every day.

I am a restless person. Shocking. I do not do well with idle time, I prefer pedal time. Therefore, I have been looking forward to these next fourteen weeks for months. I don’t mind the aches, sleepiness, and complications training for an ironman inserts into an athlete’s life; I’m an athlete, it is my life.

This time around, I have set up a goal to update my blog every week with of how my training is going. It will be good writing practice for me, and educational for what “to do” and what “not to do” for all of you. I plan to be truthful, so it will be gross from time to time, you’ve been warned. I will also share specifics about diet, because it’s time I came clean with all of you and confess that I have a deep love/obsession with vegetables. I am a proud vegetarian, my veins bleed green! Ok, ok, I’ll settle down, but I am ready to share my plant-based lifestyle.

Yum...

Yum...

Doesn’t that all sound super exciting? I mean nothing spells out fun reading than tales of running, riding, swimming, lifting, and ingesting vegetables, am I right? I may throw in a thought or two about alcohol, relaxation, and appreciation of life’s magical moments. I am not always thirsty, sweaty, hungry, and in pain, that’s just in my free time.

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Taryn
