Have any of you been writing? Remember in late June when I challenged, err, encouraged all of you to start writing down your own story? I hope some of you have started doing that. I am in an interesting spot right now where I have an idea brewing that serves as a juicy plot twist in my story, but I want to keep it close to my chest a little longer before sharing it widely. I did share it with my coach, husband, and siblings, and they all gave me the thumb’s up, which is more than what I needed to launch, still having their support means everything. Unlike my 35 By 35 quest, this challenge is not coming from a place of desperation, although it is similar in how time is a factor on when and why I want to do it.
As most of you know, I have a crazy sharp memory. I don’t forget much, and am probably one of the top two of most nostalgic people on earth. Therefore, time is very precious to me, and there is one part of my life where time feels more slippery than any place else. No, this has nothing to do with settling into my forties, (I turn forty-one in a few weeks), I still plan on attempting enormous physical and creative feats for a few more decades, it’s more like, “Why not try right now to help the person I love the most, by doing what I know and love the most?”
That’s really all we have. Right now. Today. Hopefully, tomorrow, but beyond that?? Which is why I wanted to encourage all of you to start writing down your story ASAP, because even when it ends, if you write it down, someone might find it, and then share it because they were inspired by it, and believe many others will be, too.
That is why I am doing it.
I believe I will write a line here or there that may inspire someone who I know, or don’t, to set their own goals, and not just let them sit there drying on the page, but then pursue them.
It is well documented that I have set goals that I have not accomplished, those are not fun moments to feel, or share, but life is full of heart bursts and heart breaks, deal with it, and then write it down!! I believe we are our own greatest teachers and students, and that the most effective way to learn and grow is to share our stories with each other.
All that said, I am going to share the next challenge I have cookin’ with all of you soon... In the meantime, I am in full swing prepping for it, I think most of you will get a kick out of it, AND can be a part of it… Wha???? Yes! So, please enjoy your Tuesday, and keep writing down your daily adventures.
The song and video choice this week is a clue about my mysterious project… It is a classic from Rod Stewart, and a family favorite, “You’re In My Heart.” Enjoy.
