Take A Leap

Are those waves?

Or mountains? Or cliffs?

Do they belong there? Or anywhere? Or everywhere?

Are they too high? Or are we too low?

Do you feel small, tiny, overwhelmed, or steady?

Are you screaming? Or laughing?

Do they take your breath? Or give you life?

Can you feel your heartbeat? Can you hear it? Do you see it throbbing out from your chest?

Do you know if that’s it? - What you’ve always wanted?

Catch one, or climb one - 

Just smile and take a leap.

I wrote this poem a couple of years ago and included it in a collage I have posted above my desk. I gain different insights from it every time I read it. That is what I love and appreciate about poetry, a poem's meaning is always in motion; it never lands in one place, for the poet or reader, it simply lives its life breathing infinite inspiration.
